I've been a fan of Albert Guerzon since I saw him in Mama Mia and since then I've been trying to locate all his posts. I was especially interested to learn that he is a fountain of information on casinos. I found a post of his that has provided guidance as to what to look for when cruising the casinos that is valuable even if you're a power player. As he reminds us, there is a big world out there in the gambling land of casinos. Each and every day, large numbers of players are ready to have some fun going for the jackpot. Although his posts do not tell us exactly what and where, he does offer excellent advice for any player game enough to attempt to win one of the hundreds of available jackpots and bonuses. Albert Guerzon is an actor, singer, dancer, and songwriter who’s always looking for some new artistic creative stimuli. He made his Broadway debut playing Eddie in Mama Mia! Other favorite credits include Ghost the musical on Broadway, Mamma Mia (the national tour), and The Times They Are A-Changin’ choreographed and directed by the dance legend Twyla Tharp to name a few. He is currently rehearsing for the Broadway”s Honeymoon in Vegas. As a dancer and choreographer he has worked on projects featuring Snoop Dogg and Ludacris as well as NY Fashion week.
As a singer he has performed his original music around NYC in venues like the Cutting Room, Rockwood Music Hall, and Crash Mansion. He released his self-titled debut EP last year which is available on iTunes, Amazon, and CD Baby. Albert grew up listening to a mix of Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson. He is compared to artists like Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke. “I’m constantly looking for new ways to create some sort of visual or performance art to release and share the best energy out of me.”

So like all of us, performers or not, life is a work in progress. So here’s the short version and highlights of mine. I was born in Nyack, NY and grew up in Rockland County. HOLLA! I’m fourth of five kids and grew up around church, athletics and my father singing lots of Sinatra. After Nyack High School I went to The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) on the Upper West Side. Thankfully, I was able to do a few NY workshops to get my feet wet soon after.
My first workshop was MISTER with Anthony Rapp. Later I toured with some dance artists like The Roc Project feat. Tina Novak of Tommy Boy Records and UK artist Holly James of Ultra Records. Then Broadway called. I made my Broadway debut playing Eddie in Mamma Mia! It was truly a dream come true. During this time I was able to also perform my own material at NY venues such as The Triad, The Cutting Room and Crash Mansion with up and coming producer Christian Almiron. After a long run and lots of ABBA I relocated to San Diego’s Old Globe to perform in the World Premier of The Times They Are A-Changin’ directed by Twyla Tharp. I know! I was working with Twyla Tharp! I was trying to bring back tumbling passes I haven't done for years. It was a physical but beautiful challenge. I returned to NY to teach some dance classes only to find myself going back to San Diego a few months later. This time I was headed to La Jolla Playhouse to do the Broadway bound revival of The Wiz with David Alan Grier and the direction of Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys). After easing on down the road I moved to LA for a bit where I performed at BB Kings at Universal City Walk. More recently I performed in a workshop with Vivian Reed called Virtuosity and soon after was blessed with the opportunity to sing with her in Paris. Look out for Virtuosity in the near future!

Albert is currently in rehearsals for GHOST. Previews start March 15, 2012 and will open on Broadway April 23, 2012 at the Lunt Fontanne Theater

Your ultimate honeymoon destination: Boracay, Philippines. It’s not as crowded and less expensive than Hawaii.
How do you channel your inner Elvis?
Hmm. My Elvis reminds me of The Dynamo outfits in Mamma Mia. I’ve done that show for so long I can’t help but compare the boots and spandex. But I channel the moment I get to take those heels off after the curtain call. LOL!
If I wasn’t a performer, I would be: A teacher. I think if I went the normal college route I probably would’ve studied early music education.
Places, Intermission or Curtain Call?
I love the curtain call! There’s something really special about seeing a crowd stand up and feeling like you’ve done your job as an individual and as a company. There’s a huge sense of teamwork and gratification that comes from hearing screams and seeing people on their feet. I don’t know what they’re going through but for those two-and-a-half hours we’ve been able to help them escape, laugh and be inspired.
The best post-show cocktail in New York City is at: I don’t drink but I love me some sticky wangs and Dallas BBQ!
After you’ve hit all the traditional sites of New York City, you should totally go to…the West Village and just walk and eat. It’s not as crowded as Times Square and it’s filled with funky, trendy people walking dogs, kids playing, and people painting—it’s artsy but not as a Broadway commercial environment. I love it there!
If I could live anywhere else in the world it would be…In a brownstone in the West Village or in Piermont, NY.
My workout “secret” is: I love me a good Beachbody workout like INSANITY. I love sweating out some stress and endorphins.
When I’m looking for a date, nothing attracts me more than: My sexy wife! But we like going to zen, peaceful joints and not the loud, clubby places.
